趣旨
日本・ベルギー修好通商航海条約締結150周年を機に発足した「ベルギー学」シンポジウム実行委員会は、2016年以来、計3回にわたり国内外からベルギーに関わる様々な分野の研究者が集う国際シンポジウムを開催し、人的交流の促進、両国間の相互理解の深化をはかってきました。
第4回目の開催となる本会では、これまでの実績をふまえ、「音楽」を全体テーマとして取り上げます。ベルギーは1830年にオランダから国家独立を果たしましたが、その際、ブリュッセルのモネ劇場での歌劇上演が独立革命の一つの契機となったことを発端に、今日に至るまで、ベルギーにおいて音楽は産業、政治、文学、美術等、幅広い分野に影響を与えています。したがって、本シンポジウムは様々な分野の研究者とベルギーに関わりのある実演家の交流の場となることが期待されます。また、周辺のヨーロッパ諸国の影響を受け、複雑な言語事情や多層的な文化をもつベルギーにおいて、音楽という芸術文化がどのように発展してきたのかを日本で紹介する貴重な機会ともなることでしょう。
The ‘Belgian Studies’ Symposium Executive Committee, launched on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between Japan and Belgium, has held three international symposiums since 2016, gathering researchers in various fields related to Belgium from Japan and abroad to promote exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries.
Based on the achievements of the past symposiums, this fourth symposium will focus on the theme of ‘Music’ overall. Belgium gained independence from the Netherlands in 1830, and the performance of an opera at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels was a trigger of the Belgian Revolution. Since then, music has held close relations to domains such as the industry, politics, literature, and fine arts. Therefore, it is possible to view the development of the nation from a broad perspective through ‘music’. This symposium would enable us to build network among researchers in various fields and performers who are associated with Belgium. It will also be a valuable opportunity to introduce in Japan the manner in which art and the culture of music have developed in Belgium, influenced by neighbouring European countries and under a complex linguistic situation with a multi-layered culture.

The Committee invites you to submit presentation proposals relevant to the theme of the Symposium.
(We accept proposals of any field of research, as long as it is related to music.)
Abstract should be no more than 400 characters (Japanese) or 200 words (English). Together with the abstract, submit your name, email address and affiliation, as well as the presentation title.
Proposals will be reviewed by the Executive Committee and accepted participants will be notified.
